FAQ's about How I Can Help Organize Your Classroom
What takes place in a typical organizing session in my classroom?
One of the first things I will do is talk with you and get to know your needs.  Each teacher has different needs and concerns.  It is important that you share your thoughts about what is causing you frustration.  From there, I'll do what's called a "Needs Assessment," and walk around your room, "touring" the various spaces you have.  I'll look at the "problem" areas you discuss, but I'll also ask to look around at the whole room so I can get the "bigger picture" of your space, your style, and simply get to know how you might perhaps like to organize your materials.  After this, we'll begin the Organizing Session.  We'll look at what you have, sort items as necessary, purge or organize effectively, and determine effective storage solutions.
How many sessions will I need to get my classroom organized?
As with any organizing project, the timeframe for getting your room organized to your satisfaction depends on several things, including how long it takes to make individual decisions about sorting and deciding what items to keep, as well as how much "homework" you want to do in the meantime.  I work hard to ensure that we work at your pace so you feel you are getting the most of our time together.  Many times, after two or three sessions, the progress is so positive that you feel you can continue from there, using the organizing skills and strategies we've used up to that point.
How do you charge for organizing sessions?
As with residential organizing, I charge by the hour, usually with a 2-hour minimum.  I offer convenient hourly packages, which can help you save money.
What if I am hesitant or embarrassed about having someone help me organize?
With my experience as a teacher, I have probably encountered what you are feeling or experiencing at one point or another.  Rest assured that I will treat your concerns with respect.  My job as a professional organizer is to be sensitive to your concerns.  I will not be critical or judgmental of your organizational challenges.  I strive to put you at ease and help you to discover personalized, manageable systems for your organizing concerns.  Professional organizers really love what they do, so believe it or not, they actually enjoy seeing the initial clutter!  I strive to help you see past the clutter and I assist you in creating a workable plan so you can feel energized, efficient, and happier in your home.  Rest assured that I hold your privacy in strict confidence.
I am usually a pretty organized person already, but I just don't have the time!  Why should I consider a professional organizer to help me in my classroom?
We make so many decisions in the course of a day.  Sometimes, a professional organizer can help you streamline an idea for organizing, or simply provide some needed guidance or help to fine-tune what you are doing.  Hiring a professional organizer is a great way to simply work with someone to ensure a fresh set of eyes in your space.  A third party is sometimes able to see new or different solutions to organizing concerns.  Taking the time to work with an organizer can be a springboard to help you strengthen your organizing skills.  Lastly, an organizer can help you with the organizing process, simply since there are two of us!  We can accomplish more in less time, and since time is often so restricted, we need all the help we can get!
 Testimonial:
You have inspired me and encouraged me.  I can't believe that the first thing I think about when I walk into my classroom isn't, "What do I have to do today, but "What do I get to do today!"
